Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB): Mental health counselling coverage for eligible First Nations and Inuit clients.
-
Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP): Temporary health coverage that may include mental health counselling for eligible refugees, refugee claimants and certain other groups.

Our therapy for women welcomes women from diverse backgrounds, including trans women, and honours differences in culture, race, sexual orientation, ability, faith and life experience. There is no single way to be a woman, and your therapist will not assume what your roles, relationships or goals should be.
You are welcome to explore how identity, cultural expectations, discrimination or belonging shape your experiences. If you are questioning your gender or unsure whether this service is right for you, a consultation offers space to discuss your needs and whether the therapist is a good fit.
At Inner Core Psychotherapy, we aim to create a respectful, affirming space where your experiences are heard and your choices guide the work.

You can seek counselling when you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain, or simply ready for change. You may be managing your responsibilities while privately feeling exhausted, stuck in negativity or unlike yourself. Your concerns deserve attention, even if others seem to have it harder.
Therapy offers space to focus on your needs, understand what you are experiencing, and explore what would help you move forward. You do not need a diagnosis or a clearly defined goal to start.
At Inner Core Psychotherapy, we meet you with compassion and curiosity, helping you feel heard and supported without expecting you to be a certain way.
Feeling nervous about sharing personal experiences is understandable. You may be unsure where to begin, worried about being judged, or accustomed to keeping difficult feelings to yourself.
Your free consultation allows you to meet your therapist, ask questions, and discuss concerns before deciding whether to move forward. During therapy, your therapist can guide the conversation with gentle questions. You do not need to share your whole story at once. Your therapist is a professional who will help you open up with your consent and at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
At Inner Core Psychotherapy, helping you feel safe and having your consent is central to our trauma-informed approach. We take time to build trust, respect your boundaries, and offer choices about what you share and how we work together.
Perimenopause and menopause can bring changes in mood, sleep, energy, confidence and intimacy. You may feel more anxious, overwhelmed or unlike yourself while also navigating work, relationships, caregiving or other life changes.
Therapy offers space to make sense of what you are experiencing and explore how it affects your daily life and relationships. Your therapist can help you develop ways to manage stress, respond to difficult emotions, communicate your needs and set boundaries that support your well-being.
You may also want to explore changes in body image, identity or expectations about this stage of life. We approach these conversations with curiosity and compassion, without assuming that every concern is caused by hormones.
At Inner Core Psychotherapy, we provide personalized, trauma-informed support to help you feel heard and navigate these changes with greater clarity and self-compassion.
Changes in your body or how you see yourself can lead to self-consciousness, frustration or a sense of disconnection. You may find yourself comparing your appearance with others, feeling pressure to look a certain way, or struggling with changes related to aging, pregnancy, menopause, illness or other experiences.
Therapy offers a safe space to explore these feelings without judgment. Together, we can examine how personal experiences, relationships and cultural expectations have shaped your self-image and work toward responding to yourself with greater compassion.
You do not have to love every part of your body to begin developing a gentler relationship with it. Your therapist can help you explore what feeling more comfortable means to you, recognise your needs and consider boundaries around conversations or media that leave you feeling worse about yourself.
At Inner Core Psychotherapy, safety, choice and respect are central to our trauma-informed approach. We support you in exploring your relationship with your body at your own pace, without pressure to look or feel a particular way.
When you are carrying responsibilities at work, caring for others or managing everyday demands, it can feel like there is little room left for you. You may feel exhausted, irritable, overwhelmed or disconnected, even as you continue to get things done.
Therapy offers space to explore what you are carrying, how these pressures affect you and what support may be missing. Together, we can identify priorities, explore boundaries and develop manageable ways to respond to stress.
The work is not about asking you to become better at doing everything. Your therapist can help you consider what can change, where responsibilities might be shared and how to make room for your needs within your circumstances.
At Inner Core Psychotherapy, we offer compassionate, trauma-informed support to help you feel heard, recognise your limits and move toward a more sustainable balance.
Setting boundaries can feel difficult when you are used to caring for others, avoiding conflict, or putting your own needs last. You may worry that saying no will disappoint someone or strain an important relationship.
Your therapist can help you explore these concerns, recognize your limits, and practise expressing your needs clearly and kindly. Your therapist may also remind you that you matter too and that setting boundaries means that you can still be a caring person. The goal isn't to eliminate every uncomfortable feeling, but to help you make choices that respect your well-being while navigating guilt or uncertainty.
At Inner Core Psychotherapy, our trauma-informed approach respects your circumstances, relationships, and safety. We work collaboratively to establish boundaries that feel meaningful and manageable for you.
